The Strategic Procurement Branch provides leadership through the development of more effective procurement strategies ensuring value for money outcomes in NSW Health. This is being achieved through increased collaboration with NSW Health entities, stakeholders and clinical experts to ensure the provision of safe, high quality, goods and services. SPB has strategic oversight across the procurement of goods and services within NSW Health. As leaders and enablers of better practice, SPB’s key objective is to maximise value across NSW Health through partnering with NSW Health entities to ensure the alignment of procurement strategies across the NSW Health system ensuring best practise through the tender process.

About this role

 

The Project Support Officer provides efficient and effective project management and business support activities to the NSW Ministry of Health. This role is responsible for supporting SPB projects and operations to ensure timely achievement of project objectives and providing support to improve SPB operational efficiencies and business process improvements.

 

Crown Clerk 5/6, starting salary from $93,295 - $102,941 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week. This is a full time (temporary) position for 12 months.

What you'll be doing

 

  • Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans.
  • Update and collate documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to ensure the delivery of projects complies with agreed project management methodology.
  • Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning.
  • Assist the project team to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues.
  • Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating committee meetings and preparing papers, to support project management delivery.
