What you’ll be doing

The primary purpose of the Project Officer, Grants is to coordinate, execute, implement and support the operations, monitoring and evaluation of the Cancer Institute's grant schemes and to facilitate the effective delivery of programs and projects in line with Divisional and Institute objectives.

 Essential requirements

 

  • Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualification in an appropriate discipline such as health, public health or health promotion or equivalent and relevant professional experience and training.
  • An understanding of the NSW and or federal health system including a knowledge of relevant trends, issues, policies and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and the application of project management principles and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver and meet project objectives and requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

If successful for interview candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy to provide to panel.

 

Pre-screening questions

 

  • Please give an example of a project you have undertaken where you were responsible for monitoring project milestones and explain what tools you used to ensure that the project was meeting its milestones?

 

  • Please describe your experience in grants administration (if any) and how to ensure that key principles of transparency, accountability and probity are embedded in the way grants are delivered.
