South Western Sydney Local Health District is currently recruiting a Project Network Engineer to contribute to a major ICT infrastructure hardware refresh initiative across the district.

As a member of the Digital Health team, you will collaborate closely with both internal departments and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of this program.

What You'll Be Doing
The HGEN Project Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the Health Grade Enterprise Network (HGEN) initiative that provides a single converged and highly secure data network at South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) facilities and sites. The position is the subject matter expert (SME) and will assist the project team to identify, audit and document networking interdependencies of hospital systems to ensure the project delivers the vision set out by the Health Grade Enterprise Network initiative.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry-recognised certifications related to data network engineering.
  2. Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and executing network hardware refresh or upgrade initiatives within an enterprise environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to configure, install, and test network hardware including but not limited to, network switches, routers, firewalls and wireless infrastructure for converged environments.
  4. Capacity to plan, prioritise, and deliver outcomes within strict project timelines, including risk identification and mitigation related to network refresh activities.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of change management processes, risk assessment, and adherence to ITIL or similar frameworks to ensure network integrity and business continuity during transitions.
  6. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
