About the Role:
The Multicultural Innovation, Partnerships and Research Program Lead will play a crucial role in developing and executing innovative programs that enhance healthcare access and quality for diverse populations. This position will involve conducting research, building partnerships, and securing grants to support initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by multicultural, refugee, and Deaf communities. This pivotal role will drive the coordination of key programs and projects, strengthen partnerships with government and non-government sectors, and lead research collaboration with prominent organisations. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaboration: Work closely with clinicians, researchers and partner organisations throughout Hunter New England 
  • Design: Create, modify and expand on innovations to improve care to patients and clients from multicultural, refugee, and Deaf communities.
  • Research Participation: Actively expand the evidence to support change throughout the District through research leadership and partnership.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilise data and insights to help staff understand barriers to access, communication and equitable health outcomes by Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, while sharing outcomes and successes to improve all services.
  • Project Management: manage multiple improvement projects, covering a range of clinical specialities at micro and macro levels, to implement significant change throughout the District.



About You:

  • You passionately understand the barriers faced by multicultural, refugee and Deaf patients and their families in accessing health care. 
  • You are committed to improving the health care system.
  • You have experience in working in research, grant writing, and undertaking multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • You are an engaging leader who leads by example, actively listens, and is passionate about coaching and development.
  • You are a critical thinker and problem solver, solution-oriented with strong change management skills.
  • You excel at bringing people together, fostering an environment of trust, collaboration, and productivity.



Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health or social sciences and/or significant relevant work experience
  • Current NSW drivers licence, with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
  • Proven experience in working in culturally complex environments with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse populations (including refugees and/or multicultural communities), with a demonstrated understanding of trauma informed and culturally responsive care.

What were the key challenges you faced, and how did you navigate them to ensure the program's success?
