What you'll be doing

The Patient Service Assistant (PSA) for the Central Equipment Store provides a high level of clinical support services by maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

This role ensures timely response to transferring of patients and work related items throughout the facility such as equipment; transport of linen and waste as required.

  1. Previous experience in a similar position within a healthcare facility and/or ability to use commercial cleaning equipment.
  2. Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow directions and meet required timeframes.
  3. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  5. Willingness to clean equipment that has had potential contact with a person with an infectious condition, after relevant infection control training.
  6. Able to work varying shifts with varying start times to provide a seven-day a week service.
