About the opportunity

Bring your technical knowledge and customer service skills to a critical frontline support role with NSW Health Pathology, where you’ll play an essential part in the delivery of high-quality Point of Care Testing (PoCT) services across a range of clinical environments. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to patient-focused healthcare by supporting laboratory-based and clinical staff with the implementation, operation, and maintenance of PoCT devices. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, responsible for ensuring best-practice standards and reliable performance of PoCT services, while building strong relationships with clinicians, medical practitioners, and internal stakeholders.

This role offers variety and scope, including hands-on technical support, stock and equipment management, data entry, and contributing to staff training and competency assessments. Your ability to stay technically proficient, manage multiple systems, and maintain accuracy in data handling will be key to your success. What you'll be doing

To perform, under supervision, a range of scientific, technical and customer support services for laboratory-based and clinical staff, to deliver a patient-focused service.

  1. Qualifications in a related field of science with subjects relevant to Pathology and/or extensive work related experience.
  2. Ability to work independently and within a team environment with the ability to maintain high quality work output while managing competing priorities.
  3. Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage competing priorities.
  4. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills combined with the ability to investigate and resolve general issues within the laboratory environment.
  5. High level interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate, consult and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels, preferably in a laboratory environment.
  6. Experience and/or understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
  7. Demonstrated high level of PC skills, including being able to use programs like word processing and spread sheets and/or a laboratory information system.
  8. Current unencumbered NSW (Class C) drivers licence and the ability / willingness to work across various locations / sites as required.
