This SESLHD Patient Services Assistant role is funded under the Training Services NSW, Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Grant. This Initiative is designed to support Aboriginal people to access employment and career development pathways into the NSW Public Sector and in Closing The Gap.
This position is Targeted for Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander people by exception under Section 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW. The Role
Provides the highest level of clinical support services by maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients, staff and visitors; transferring of patients and work related items throughout the facility; transport of linen and waste as required.

- Previous recent experience in a similar position within a healthcare facility and/or demonstrated ability to use of commercial cleaning equipment
- High level verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow directions and meet specified time schedules
- Able to work varying shifts with varying start times to provide a seven-day twenty-four hour service
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to clean rooms that are or were occupied by persons with an infectious condition after relevant infection control training
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work effectively with minimum level supervision
