About the role:
We are thrilled to be offering a two-year New Graduate position for a Speech Pathologist within the Armidale Community team. This role involves working with the paediatric Allied Health community services, focusing on assessments and interventions for children aged 0-12 years with mild or isolated speech and language delays.

Our team is committed to delivering high-quality care to children and their families. You will have the chance to learn from senior staff and be supported by a dynamic and friendly team to provide patient-centred Speech Pathology services.

This position is a unique role, giving you the opportunity to implement innovative and engaging models of care. You will be able to educate families and caregivers, create educational videos for centres, and use virtual care to monitor progress and provide additional support. Additionally, you will be able to deliver outreach services to surrounding areas, ensuring children receive the services they need when they need them.

As part of our Paediatric New Graduate program, you will collaborate with Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists across our district. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact and build professional connections. It’s a great way to kickstart your career.

We are very keen to help you develop your knowledge and skills so will provide $800 for Professional Development support to be allocated annually while you complete this two-year program.

Where you'll be working:
The Armidale Speech Pathology team is a small, cohesive team that covers the health needs of the Armidale, Uralla, Guyra and Walcha areas. Our services are predominantly paediatric with community health, preschool and outreach services offered. We have a highly experienced friendly team, with a strong focus on development, supervision and support.

Armidale is the main hub of the New England High Country, and is one of Australia’s most elegant regional locations, with its 19th-century churches and heritage architecture. Armidale is surrounded by beautiful forests, mountain gorges, national parks, and waterfalls, including Wollomombi Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Australia.

About you:
  • Has a passion for providing patient-centred care and working with children and their families.
  • Is keen to participate in ongoing team projects and service developments.
  • Has a willingness to learn and develop skills across all areas of paediatric Speech pathology.
  • Motivated and flexible, committed to the wellbeing and quality outcomes of clients.
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive speech pathology and multidisciplinary team
  • Has graduated from university within the last year.


Requirements:

  • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Current eligibility to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.
