We are seeking passionate, committed and enthusiastic, Occupational Therapist who possesses mental health experience and a desire to enrich the lives of consumers to lead a fulfilling and productive recovery and who has the confidence and ability to make autonomous decisions and work collectively within the Multidisciplinary team. As an occupational Therapist within ESMHS you will be responsible for working with MDT in order to provide innovative, compassionate and recovery focused care. You will have the opportunity to work with a varied client group and in a role that is autonomous with support from the leadership team.
Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within occupational therapy in order to provide high quality occupational therapy services to the patients admitted to the Inpatient Mental Health Units at the Prince of Wales Hospital consistent with NSW Health and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards. Assess, plan, organise, deliver, evaluate, and report on the provision of high quality Occupational Therapy in accordance with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia Code of Conduct, NSW Health and SESLHD policies and clinical practices, to achieve Best practise patient health outcomes within specified timeframes. Possess extensive specialist knowledge and skills in Acute Mental Health and be responsible for a diverse and complex caseload involving clients with multiple mental health diagnostic issues, co-morbidities and medical issues.

Selection criteria:
- Must hold general registration with and qualifications recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or ability to be registered at time of commencement.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Mental Health Occupational Therapy
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills, including the ability to interact constructively with all stakeholders.
- Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation and recovery focus
