Where you'll be working:
Join the Manning Base Hospital Occupational Therapy Department, part of the Lower Mid North Coast Sector (LMNCS) of Hunter New England Health. This specialist role supports patients with an oncology diagnosis and is closely aligned with the Cancer Services Team. About the role:
As a Level 3 Occupational Therapist working in Cancer Services, your focus will be providing community-based and outpatient services to patients living with an oncology diagnosis. You will also provide leave relief to the Palliative Care OT team as required.

Your typical week could involve:
  • Working one-on-one with oncology patients to support meaningful activity engagement
  • Collaborating with Oncologists, Haematologists, and other Allied Health professionals
  • Connecting with external support organisations such as the Cancer Council
  • Delivering InForm Manning, a Cancer, Exercise and Wellbeing program
  • Supporting physical, social, emotional, and spiritual health through occupational therapy interventions
  • Travelling within the Lower Mid North Coast Sector to meet service needs


This is a highly rewarding role for a clinician passionate about oncology and palliative care who can work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You’ll be supported with regular clinical supervision, sector-wide collaboration, and professional development opportunities.

About you:
You are a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist who:

  • Has a strong interest in oncology and/or palliative care
  • Communicates clearly and empathetically with patients and team members
  • Manages your time well and adapts to changing needs
  • Works confidently both autonomously and in a team
  • Is willing and able to travel across the sector as required


Requirements:

  • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated experience in oncology, palliative care, or community-based therapy
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and ability to travel for work

  • * Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. Please note: if your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive.
