Join Our Team as a Postnatal Nurse Unit Manager at Campbelltown Hospital – Temporary Full-Time Opportunity!

About The Opportunity

Are you an experienced and compassionate nursing/midwifery leader ready to make a difference in postnatal care? We’re looking for a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager to join our Post Natal Team at Campbelltown Hospital. In this key role, you will oversee and manage the delivery of high-quality, culturally appropriate care in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Our Post Natal ward is a 24 bed unit, caring for women and babies in our busy level 5 maternity unit. The service also provides direct management and oversight of the Midwifery discharge program.  You will be supported by a fulltime Clinical Midwife Educator, and lactation Clinical Midwife Specialist’s 

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  3. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
