About Your Role
The position of Nurse Unit Manager, Murrumburrah Harden MPS focuses on clinical leadership and direct clinical care as a percentage of the contracted hours across medical ward, emergency and / or residential aged care.
The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.
Key NUM responsibilities include:
- Liaison with all health care disciplines for the provision of services to meet patient needs.
- The orchestration of services to meet patient needs after discharge, such as monitoring catering and transport services.
- The implementation of hospital and health service policies.
- The dissemination of relevant information to all personnel.
- Ensuring environmental safety, including monitoring the use and maintenance of equipment, the supply and use of stock and supplies and cleaning services.
- The direction, co-ordination and supervision of midwifery/nursing activities, training, appraisal and counselling of midwives and nurses, rostering and/or allocation of midwifery/nursing staff.
- Development and/or implementation of new midwifery and nursing practices according to patient needs.
The successful candidate is required to commence in April 2025.
