What you'll be doing
The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.

The Nurse Manager – Staff Health provides leadership and management for the SESLHD Staff Health Service, leading a culture of safety for the team and key stakeholders and providing consistency of service and information management.
 
The Staff Health Service provides a central focus for the care and wellbeing of SESLHD staff, plus students and volunteers working within SESLHD.
 
Staff Health Service delivers on-site facility clinics, mobile vaccination services as well as ensuring timely pre- employment screening for recruitment candidates prior to them being given confirmation of their roles. Case managing occupational exposures is an important service included in the clinical work of the Staff Health Service as well as supplying vaccination implementation. Ongoing coordination of the Respiratory Protection Program will also be overseen by the Staff Health Service.

Selection Criteria

  1. Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife; and Authorised Nurse Immuniser; and current NSW driver’s licence and a willingness to travel as required in role.
  2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health management or working towards attainment and/or extensive demonstrated experience in nursing/midwifery management roles or in the delivery of staff health services.
  3. Demonstrated leadership in change management and quality improvement and a sound background in developing and implementing policies and procedures
  4. Ability to identify and achieve goals within a complex environment including the ability to prioritise workload against competing demands.
  5. Sound understanding of current SESLHD and NSW Health processes in relation to pre-employment screening and health assessments
  6. Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills including proven highly developed negotiation and problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management and staff
  7. Demonstrated leadership skills and understanding of organisational culture with proven ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff
  8. High level understanding of technology platforms and the ability to provide clear and concise plans and report
