About the Role
Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
This position will support the development, delivery and evaluation of education strategies relating to the management of acute behavioural disturbances. This will include the development, accreditation and delivery of a nationally recognised qualification as well as other educational resources.
The Nurse Educator will be the subject matter expert for elements of the programs design. This will reflect their specialised ability to support patients who have acute behavioural disturbances. They will use their extensive knowledge and clinical expertise to ensure person centre care is at the heart of this education strategy.
This position is expected to be able to work autonomously, with minimal direct supervision and using independent professional judgement, have high level interpersonal skills, be able to clearly identify and address problems and concerns, have a wide knowledge of current evidence based practice.

Ideal Candidate
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife and post registration nursing/midwifery clinical or education qualifications relevant to the clinical area in which he/she is appointed or qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Commitment to professional development of self and others including reflective practice and the ability to identify areas for growth.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior role that included the provision of workplace coaching, feedback and support.
