A Permanent Part time opportunity is now available for a Nurse Educator to join the ICU team located at Nepean Hospital.

The Nurse Educator role  is a senior nurse at an Area or facility level who is responsible for Leading change in a complex clinical environment through education and professional development, Improving patient outcomes through dynamic and responsive education and professional development., Enhancing inter-professional collaboration and teamwork through partnerships in education and positively influencing the recruitment and retention of staff to Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District by creating a workforce that is highly skilled e Lead and support other staff to develop quality clinical learning solutions.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with post registration qualifications relevant to the clinical area in specialty area with demonstrated experience providing clinical teaching and education to clinicians using adult learning principles and facilitation skills.
  2. Demonstrated senior experience in the nursing/midwifery practice/management.
  3. Current Certificate as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor (currently Certificate IV) or willingness to work towards certification. Demonstrated experience in development, delivery and evaluation of education and training programs.
  4. Demonstrated use of computer skills in the development of educational resources.
  5. Demonstrated project management experience.
  6. Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills and knowledge.
  7. Demonstrated ability and flexibility to work between affiliated organisations and relevant leadership groups.
  8. Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills that demonstrates a capacity to foster harmonious and effective team relationships including problem solving and conflict resolution.
