About the Role: 
With the flexibility to create a working week around your lifestyle, we are seeking a highly organised and efficient Administration Officer to provide high-level secretarial and administrative assistance for the Newcastle Refugee Health Service. This role is 4 days per week (32 hours) with Monday and Tuesday being essential. You can choose the other two days to suit you! 

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage administrative tasks and prioritise workflow to ensure the timely completion of activities and projects for the Newcastle Refugee Health Service.
  • Maintain the records management system. 
  • Coordinate and provide secretarial support for meetings and committees.
  • Assist the Service Manager and Health Care Interpreter Service Manager in preparing reports, documents, and complex correspondence.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients and service providers, providing culturally competent customer service through phone, email, and in-person interactions.

 

About You: 
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills. To be successful in this role, you would ideally have:

  • Proven experience in providing efficient administrative, secretarial, and clerical support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use initiative, discretion, and judgment in a flexible, creative manner.
  • A commitment to culturally competent customer support, ensuring quality service to diverse clients.
