Situated on the banks of the Mehi River in the heart of the rich black-soil plains, Moree is known for its unique blend of natural beauty and agricultural significance. The name "Moree" is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "rising sun," "long spring," or "water hole," reflecting the area's deep cultural heritage of the Kamilaroi people.
