Hospital Assistant - Cleaner
Bathurst Health Service

About the role

The Hospital Assistant – Cleaner, supports the delivery of an efficient and effective cleaning service to the patients and facilities within the Bathurst Health Service.

In this role, you will undertake a range of cleaning duties as outlined in a daily schedule, including high level inside cleaning and outside cleaning, stripping and/or sealing floors, the cleaning of other equipment, to minimise risks to self and patients through consistent adherence to safe manual handling principles and infection prevention and control guidelines in completion of all duties.

In this position, you will work a 7 day rotating roster system as holiday relief, with a roster up to 6 weeks in advance.

Self-satisfaction of the knowing you are helping people in their recovery is so rewarding. You may be the only friendly face the patients see for days, and this will brighten their day and yours. The workload can be high but enjoyable and there are many people around to assist when required.

The successful applicant will be working in a happy and friendly environment to achieve the cleaning goals for the day with several staff on shift to assist. You will be supported by members of the hospital assistants’ team, also a friendly and encouraging supervisor/management team.

This position is managed by Downer on a day-to-day basis.

Our goal to build 'healthier rural people and thriving communities' is the shared responsibility of all involved in care of our patients and the Hospital Assistant is an integral and valued member of our team.
