About the role:
Our Catering team at Calvary Mater Hospital and HNELHD Mental Health Centre in Waratah are passionate about providing nutritious meals in a safe and efficient manner. We are an integral part of the overall care of our patients and work hard to ensure that our food services, hygiene, safety and patient care are out top priority. We are seeking additional team members who will play an important role towards ensuring that we provide a high standard of service in accordance with our food safety processes and legislation.
A typical day consists of:
- Meal Preparation: Assist with chopping, cooking, and assembling meals based on dietary requirements.
- Meal Distribution: Serve and deliver meals to patients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment, following hygiene standards.
- Stock Management: Help with inventory, receiving deliveries, and ensuring food is stored properly.
- Patient Interaction: Assist with meal orders, address dietary concerns, and ensure food safety.
- Special Diets: Support the preparation of meals for patients with specific dietary needs.
- Administrative Support: Document meal logs, temperatures, and follow food safety protocols.
