About the Role

Balmain Hospital is a community-based healthcare facility that has been caring for local people since 1885. It is dedicated to Aged Care, Rehabilitation and General Practice. Balmain Hospital is committed to providing the highest standards of healthcare to meet individual needs.

Exciting opportunity to lead and manage an Occupational Therapy department which includes: Occupational Therapy, Diversional Therapy, Equipment Loan Pool and 2 x District-wide services (High Cost Equipment Loan Pool and Home Oxygen Service).  
  
The team is dynamic and works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team at Balmain Hospital in the Aged Care and Rehabilitation caseloads.  This position also has a clinical caseload and will be provided support and supervision by the Director of Occupational Therapy
  
The purpose of this position is to lead and manage a clinical services team in sub-acute inpatient aged care and rehabilitation caseloads with a leadership role for Occupational Therapy at Balmain Hospital, including the supervision of staff, management of professional standards and development of safety and quality.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Occupational Therapy with current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist, as well as relevant post graduate qualifications in clinical leadership and/or management or willingness to undertake same.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and clinical experience in the provision of Occupational Therapy across a broad range of clinical areas.
