Opportunity to join a passionate and unique team at the Children's Hospital Institute of Sports Medicine treating children and young people with a wide range of conditions, including concussion, sports-related injuries, POTS, chronic fatigue, obesity and sports rehabilitation in those with chronic and complex conditions. This position provides paediatric exercise testing, exercise prescription and advice and works as a team member alongside paediatric sports medicine staff specialists and other medical and allied health professionals to provide clinical services and support for research projects. In addition to the selection criteria, experience with research and running an exericse lab independently are desirable.

What you'll be doing
This position provides paediatric exercise testing, exercise prescription and advice for children with sports-related injuries, and children with chronic illness or disability. The exercise physiologist works as a team member alongside paediatric sports medicine staff specialists and other medical and allied health professionals to provide clinical services and support for research projects.
  1. Appropriate degree in Exercise Science and Sport Science or other qualification deemed equivalent;
  2. Experience in the use of a range of exercise testing equipment and ability to prescribe exercise based on exercise test results and medical conditions;
  3. Experience with children and young adolescents
  4. Good communication skills;
  5. Ability to work as a team member;
  6. Ability to write referral reports based on patient exercise testing outcomes
  7. Capacity to contribute to research projects incorporating exercise testing and/or exercise prescription
