An exciting opportunity awaits for an Early Career Speech Pathologist (clinicians less than 18 months post-graduation) looking to enter the profession in a supportive and dynamic team at Wollongong Hospital.

 

This is a 12-month full-time position (3 February 2025 to 1 February 2026) with the acute adult team, with the possibility of an extension at the same or reduced hours. As an early entry clinician you will gain a broad range of clinical skills across the continuum of care in a variety of clinical settings, including exposure to videofluoroscopy, tracheostomy, and FEES.

 

Please note this position will work across a seven-day roster (including public holidays), and applicants may be required to work at any site within the ISLHD network.

 

To be eligible for this role applicants must be on track to graduate by 1 February 2025 for immediate commencement. An eligibility list will be created from this recruitment for future level 1 temporary opportunities across the district.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

  • Tertiary degree in speech pathology (or equivalent) or on track for completion by 1 February 2025 with eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
