About the Opportunity
The Dietitian– Neurodegenerative Disease Supportive Care will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centered care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes for clients, including EOL treatment and planning. This service will support clients with complex neurodegenerative conditions in the South Western Sydney Local Health District, providing direct patient care including assessment, review and integrating care with other providers.  The dietitian works within a multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Speech Pathology, Physio, OT, Nursing and Social Work

 

What You'll be Doing
This position is responsible for providing patient centred and high quality nutrition services to clients in Neurodegenerative Disease Supportive Care Service, including providing nutritional care to patients as per caseload; provide and participate in education and evaluation; supervise students and Level 1-2 dietitian as appropriate; and participate in ongoing professional development.

How to Apply

  1. Post graduate qualification or Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics as recognized by the Dietitians Association of Australia
  2. Relevant clinical experience including demonstrated advanced practice skills and management of complex case load
  3. Demonstrated skills and experiences in managing enteral feeding, including community and outpatient support.
  4. Demonstrated experience working with other service providers, such as NGO, NDIS
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group education skills and excellent computer skills.
  6. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted
