About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Dietetics Department at Campbelltown and Camden Hospital. The Dietitian Assistant assists in maintaining a high standard of nutritional care for all inpatients through managing daily menu choices, food preferences, and dietary requirements. Dietitian Assistants support the Dietitians in monitoring of oral intake, and liaise with Food services on the day to day provision of meals to patients. The position operates on a rotating roster and may involve working at Campbelltown or Camden hospitals.
What You'll be Doing
This position is part of the Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals at Nutrition & Dietetics Department. The Dietitian Assistant assists in maintaining a high standard of nutritional care for all inpatients by obtaining and managing daily menu choices, interviewing patients for their food preference, supporting the Dietitians in monitoring of oral intake and liaising with Food Services on the day to day provision of meals to patients.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.
Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition &Dietetics) or Certificate III AHA (Nutrition &Dietetics) or equivalent qualification or minimum 12 months full-time equivalent relevant experience working as a Dietitian Assistant in a hospital with a commitment to commence Certificate IV within 12 months.
- Can you describe your knowledge and experience of nutrition, therapeutic diets & CBORD?
- Describe your ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently with examples from your most recent role as a dietitian assistant
- Give an example of a difficult customer service situation that you have dealt with? Describe how you managed the situation and what was the outcome?
