What you’ll be doing 

The position will work with key stakeholders in the Screening and Prevention Division to understand and document relevant requirements for data warehouse and new information system project initiatives. The role requires strong negotiation, business analysis, data interrogation, analytical and documentation skills in order to translate business needs into functional requirements and technical specifications for the multiple projects that aid in the improvement of cancer outcomes in NSW.

Remuneration/Benefits 

In addition to base salary: 

  • 11.5% superannuation 
  • 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)

Essential requirements 

  • Tertiary qualifications in information technology or engineering, or a related discipline; or demonstrated equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with SQL Server and Microsoft SSIS in database development and administration
  • Understanding of data management and governance principles and methods as they relate to health records
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting production ETL processes, undertaking data analysis and reporting on large datasets for the purpose of performance monitoring and improvement
  • Well-developed organisational skills, demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and independently with minimal supervision
  • Creation and maintenance of Data Dictionaries
  • Understanding of and commitment to comply with relevant confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
