Do you enjoy working with young people and passionate about care and recovery of mental health consumers in our community? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team as a Community Engagement Officer providing support in community and promotion of headspace and our services.
headspace Bondi Junction is a primary mental healthcare platform for young people (12-25years) who are deemed at risk of or experiencing the early stages of a mental health disorder and common co-occurring difficulties. The headspace model has 4 fully integrated service streams for the assessment and treatment of mental health difficulties in conjunction with co-occurring physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drugs and vocation and educational needs.

Selection Criteria:
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated experience in community engagement, health promotion, public health, social sciences, communication or marketing, education or youth work.
- Understanding of youth participation approaches relevant to successful uptake of community programs by youth mental health clients aged 16-25 years old.
- Demonstrated experience in community development and/or community awareness and education initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic partnership development and demonstrated understanding of fundraising strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience and knowledge of community engagement and health promotion principles.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent computer skills(MS office, internet, social media, publishing software)
- Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel to other locations within the SESLHD.
