  • Centre-based care, home visits, virtual and telehealth services, and group work
  • Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, and Port Stephens – close to stunning beaches, public transport, and shopping hubs
  • A dynamic team that values clinical supervision, training, quality improvement, and staff wellbeing initiatives
  • We also work closely with the Mater Inpatient Mental Health Centre, Centre for Psychotherapy, and Psychiatric Rehabilitation services, offering extended professional networks and collaborative care models.

About the role

As a Psychologist, you will:

  • Provide clinical care for individuals living with mental illness, supporting both clients and their families.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with medical, allied health, and nursing professionals.
  • Participate in weekly clinical reviews, case conferences, and joint consultations to enhance care.
  • Engage in psychology huddles and daily team check-ins, fostering peer learning and support.
  • Receive guidance and supervision from the Senior Psychologist, Clinical Coordinator, and Psychology Head of Discipline within Hunter New England Mental Health.
  • This role offers opportunities for diverse therapy approaches, innovation in service delivery, and professional development.


About you


We’re looking for a passionate and skilled psychologist who:

  • Has strong clinical and time management skills
  • Enjoys rehabilitation-focused care and working holistically with consumers
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Is eager to apply a range of therapeutic modalities and interventions to meet consumer needs

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website; or completion of same within a 2-year period.
