About the Opportunity
Unique opportunity to join the renal team as CNE, providing education to both the renal unit and the hospital as a whole. In this pivotal role, you will lead clinical education initiatives, offering mentorship and preceptorship to support the development of safe, compassionate, and person-centred care. You'll apply adult learning principles and diverse teaching strategies to build capability across all levels of nursing staff, while fostering a collaborative learning environment.
As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will work closely with management, educators, and clinical teams to plan, deliver, and evaluate education aligned with organisational goals. You’ll contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives, support a culture of safety, and uphold professional standards and codes of conduct. What You'll be Doing
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) Renal Dialysis & Hospital Support coordinates, delivers and evaluates clinical nursing education programs at a ward/service level and provides clinical supervision to support development of evidence based, person centred nursing care in line with the standards, policies and procedures of the Ministry of Health and other statutory authorities. Bowral & District Hospital, located in the picturesque Southern Highlands of NSW, offers a unique blend of rural charm and cosmopolitan amenities. As part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, it has strong connections to tertiary facilities at Campbelltown and Liverpool.
The hospital originally opened in 1889 and has undergone significant redevelopment, with the first stage completed in December 2020. This $123 million redevelopment includes a new Clinical Services Building with a modern emergency department, operating theatres, and inpatient wards. The ongoing second stage will further enhance outpatient services and include a new Aboriginal Dreaming Garden.

- Demonstrated understanding of competency-based assessment with experience in education / clinical teaching and developing clinical programs based on adult learning principles.
- Recent renal dialysis nursing experience and recent demonstrated teaching/CNE experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team.
- Knowledge and understanding of person centred care, evidence based practice and quality improvement.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
