What you'll be doing 
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you’ll provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership and consultancy services within the Supportive & Palliative Care team at Auburn Hospital. You’ll enhance patient care, support clinicians, and lead continuous improvement projects within a dynamic acute care environment.

  • Deliver expert clinical advice and consultancy in palliative and supportive care
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Provide education, mentorship and clinical support to multidisciplinary teams
  • Initiate and participate in clinical research, service planning and strategic initiatives
  • Drive practice improvement and lead clinical reviews across acute care services

Essential Requirements

  • Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)


Selection Criteria

  1. Minimum five (5) years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three (3) years' experience in speciality field in either Palliative Care/ Cancer Care/Advanced or Aged Care Nursing
  2. Postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation
  3. Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, review and redevelopment of policy, procedures and education programmes, relevant to the clinical specialty
  4. Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop/ maintain professional relationships and networks across multiple disciplines.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to utilise information technology skills.
  7. Ability to assess, plan, initiate and manage complex cases, work to goals and targets.
