This may cover a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. 

Central Coast Local Health District, Oral Health Service is seeking Oral Health Therapists to fill permanent and temporary positions working in the District’s public dental clinics.

This is a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience across dental therapy, dental hygiene and extended scope of practice. The role will see you apply your skills as an oral health therapist in a clinical environment and you will contribute to the provision of good oral health outcomes for the community of the Central Coast.

About the Role

You will be supported and mentored in your continued professional development by Senior Oral Health Therapists and Senior Dental Officers to facilitate consolidation of your clinical skills. You will be also rostered to support the Primary School Mobile Dental Program clinics across the Central Coast, and to provide patient care at the Yerin Aboriginal Medical Service Dental Clinic at Wyong.

About You

  • You have completed a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy or are in your final year.
  • You are / will be eligible to be Registered as an Oral Health Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) / Dental Board of Australia.
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of / or experience of evidenced-based oral health promotion, preventive programs and activities.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and have a focus on developing key relationships in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • You have a current valid Australian Driver's Licence and a paid Working with Children Check.
