Are you passionate about supporting young people and improving mental health awareness? headspace is looking for a dynamic Community Awareness and Engagement Officer to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of young people across the Gosford, Lake Haven, and Wyong areas.
As the Community Awareness and Engagement Officer, you will be at the heart of our community engagement strategy. Your role is crucial in ensuring that headspace is easily accessible to young people aged 12-25 and their families, making mental health support a priority for the community. You will be working Monday to Friday 08:30 - 5:00pm
What You’ll Be Doing:

Implementing community engagement strategies to raise awareness about headspace services.

Building and nurturing strong relationships with local schools, School-Link, and community organisations.

Attending strategic events and forums to promote mental health services and engage with the local community.

Working closely with interagency partners to ensure young people get the support they need early on.

Leading the headspace Youth Reference Group, ensuring its success and impact within the service.
About You
Graduate:
- You have a degree level qualifications (requiring a minimum of 3 years full time study) in a relevant field including (but not limited to) health / behavioural / population / education / communication / social sciences.
Non-Graduate:
- Tertiary qualifications (less than a recognised university degree standard) in a relevant field (as above) and/or relevant and demonstrated experience in community engagement, health promotion, public health, social sciences.
- You have a current unrestirctied drivers licence and be willing to travel to other locations across the district.
- You are able to demonstrate your ability and experience in building relationships with external service providers, fostering strong stakeholder relationships and creating opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.
