What you'll be doing
This position provides clinical support and development to nurses across the facility. The AHCDN will work in collaboration with the Nurse Education Manager, Nurse Manager of Staffing, Nursing Unit Managers and the Nursing Education team identifying staff requiring clinical development support. The AHCDN will have opportunity to work with the education team to participate in education delivery of the formal SCHN transitioning nurse programs and will support mandatory training by providing regular Resus4Kids and Between The Flags Tier 2 sessions This position is a 0.5 FTE job share working a rotating roster.
The AHCDN will work 1300-2130 weekdays and negotiable shifts on weekends.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the relevant clinical area of their post-registration qualification.
- Demonstrated evidence of advanced clinical practice in the specialty area.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal and problem solving capabilities; able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to contribute to own and team professional development and act as a resource person and to mentor others within the specialty where required.
- Demonstrated evidence of contribution to the development of clinical practice relevant to paediatrics.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making capabilities and leadership in the development of nursing specialty clinical practice and service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise professional knowledge and judgment in providing complex care requirements of patients/clients in the specialty field.
