John Hunter Hospital, located within the Hunter New England Local Health District, is one of Australia's leading teaching hospitals. About the role:
This is a fast-paced and rewarding position within the Medical Administration Office, working closely with the Medical Administration Manager and Clinical Superintendent. You’ll play a vital role in supporting Junior Medical Officers (JMOs) across Medical and Interventional Services (M&IS).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and managing complex rosters
- Payroll processing and data entry
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
- Coordinating orientation and education activities
- Maintaining room bookings and schedules
This is a diverse role requiring a high level of organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve in a high-pressure environment. You’ll be part of a supportive and professional team where your contributions will directly impact the delivery of high-quality medical care.
About you:
You are a self-motivated and organised administrator with excellent attention to detail and a knack for juggling multiple priorities. You work well independently but also thrive in a collaborative environment. You’re confident using Microsoft Office, highly professional, and able to manage sensitive information with discretion. You’re ready to bring your skills to a meaningful, high-impact role supporting medical staff and service delivery.
Requirements:
- Substantial experience in business administration, with strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Qualifications in Business Administration (preferred)
- High-level organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy team
- Strong understanding of medical staff organisation and structures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially in periods of high workload
