About the role:


Are you registered nurse who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals living with diabetes? Do you have the expertise and compassion to educate and empower patients on their journey to better health? If so, we want you to join our dynamic and supportive team!


In such a fast-paced and multi-clinic environment, strong organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to adapt quickly are crucial. While being a credentialed diabetes educator isn't required, it's beneficial to be working towards this goal.

The Diabetes Service Integrated Care – Greater Newcastle and Lower Hunter provides hands-on training, an orientation manual, clear guidance on role-specific responsibilities and ongoing support from the team. The successful applicant will be well-equipped to excel in their position. We run district wide Diabetes staff Development Education Quarterly, weekly Journal Club meetings with the multidisciplinary team all staff have the opportunity to attend these sessions and many more.


Where you’ll be working:

The Diabetes Service Integrated care – Greater Newcastle and Lower Hunter is a fast-paced environment that can be very rewarding. We rotate between different clinics, conducting patient consultations, follow-ups and lead group education sessions covering many topics associated with diabetes management. We conduct and have access to participate in professional development sessions to stay updated with the latest diabetes care practices.
