About the opportunity
The Program Manager for Service and Health Facility Planning is responsible for providing strategic leadership to support capital project teams to design and deliver quality, sustainable facilities that enable improve clinical outcomes. The role provides leadership in the development and translation of expert knowledge to help HI achieve robust planning solutions that can be applied across the capital portfolio and ensures the relationship with key Ministry of Health, Agency for Clinical Innovation, and the Clinical Excellence Commission teams as a system-wide network of contacts. The role leads the Service and Facility Planning team which has a unique awareness of emerging trends, and an up-to-date picture of best practice in health planning. This team plays an important role in supporting compliance, design standardisation, and the introduction of innovations into the clinical environment. It ensures that planning and design reflects and enhances the ability of infrastructure to accommodate emerging issues (such as the recent pandemic), new models of care, technology, safe and high-quality care.
This is a permanent ongoing position. Remuneration will be determined with the successful candidate.
Please note that as Health Infrastructure is an organisation of NSW Health, the successful applicant must reside in NSW or be willing to relocate if appointed.
This recruitment may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future roles (ongoing or temporary) that may arise over the next 18 months.
About you
Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and communicate fluently and persuasively and will be able to independently manage multiple program activities with non-negotiable and often changing timeframes requiring high quality outcomes and deliverables. This includes ensuring the work and deliverables of team members are also well managed.
Ideal candidates will hold significant experience at a senior and professional level in health planning and clinical operations. They will also have a background in health care provision and clinical planning / health facility planning.
Experience in facilitating high-level consultation meetings and managing relationships with clinical and technical experts along with a demonstrated expert knowledge of the AusHFG resources will be very well regarded.
Tertiary qualifications in a health-related field are also essential.
