Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join an innovative, new, allied health-led, mental health initiative. The Allied Health Rapid Access Team – Mental Health is a community-based team that will provide stepped-care options including brief intervention (Project Air), short term step-up allied health packages and prescription of internet-based therapies for people recovering from mental health crisis. This is a rare opportunity to showcase your exceptional occupational therapy skills by providing person-centred interventions to support functional improvement, within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team.

About You 

  • You have a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and current Occupational Therapy registration with AHPRA.
  • You possess effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and environments, including virtual care.
  • You are committed to ongoing professional development, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
  • You have demonstrated understanding of the impact of acute and chronic mental illness on functional performance, working with people experiencing distress and relevant OT assessments and interventions.

This position sits within the CCLHD mental health service and provides a high quality, time limited, clinical service to consumers living in the community and their families/carers to facilitate optimal mental health outcomes and transitions to primary care.
