About the role

The fixed-term, full-time role of Registrar (Palliative Care) from 4^th Aug 2025 until 1^st Feb 2026, is based at Braeside Hospital in Prairiewood and provides palliative care reviews to outpatients and home visits, and works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that medical clinical care is provided to inpatients and outpatients of the Palliative Care service, under the supervision of the Staff Specialist.

The essence of this role

• Provide outpatient care to patients who live in the Fairfield LGA
• Liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in providing patient care
• Maintain an appropriate standard of personal professionalism at all times and in all activities undertaken
• Implement a personal learning program for the term in conjunction with their Specialist Supervisor
• Participate in after-hours care of palliative care inpatients and community

Qualifications | Work Experience | Skills and Competencies

Essential

• Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
• Unrestricted NSW Medical Board Registration or eligibility for Unrestricted NSW Registration
• Primary Medical degree, eligible for Medical Board registration, and a minimum of two years supervised practice as an RMO
• Experience in Palliative Medicine or related specialty with accredited training status with the RACP
• Strong administrative and computer skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Current Driver’s License
• Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Organisational ability – both personal organisation and ability to supervise others
• Demonstrated compassion and caring attitude.

Desirable

• Previous training in oncology (medical or radiation) or other relevant specialities
• Experience in medical research and quality assurance
• Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
• Working towards post-graduate qualifications in Palliative Medicine (including a palliative care diploma) or related specialty
