About the role
The 12-month part-time (20 hours/week commencing in June 2025) Occupational Therapist Level 1 or 2 role works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Occupational Therapy service is provided to patients of the Riverglen Older Person’s Mental Health Unit, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Occupational Therapist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient-centred, evidence-based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and Occupational Therapy Australia.
The essence of this role
- Provision of effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers
- Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing patients’ level of functional and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatment
- Participate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client-centred, continuous quality improvement work environment
About you
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.
- Experience and/or knowledge in providing occupational therapy services in a mental health, rehabilitation, or aged care setting.
- A current drivers licence and willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting cognitive and functional assessment.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated organisation and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
