About the role:

Our mental health services are a core part of the organisation’s commitment to providing care to disadvantaged and marginalised members of our community, and providing high quality mental health services is a mission imperative for us.

Your responsibilities will include the provision of patient-centered nursing care, recognition of normal and abnormal assessments, interventions and evaluations of individual health and functional status.

You will monitor the impact of nursing care and maintain ongoing communication with the registered nurse regarding the health and functional status of individuals. You may administer prescribed medicines in accordance with their educational preparation.

You will demonstrate critical and reflective thinking skills in contributing to decision making which includes reporting changes in health and functional status and individual responses to health care interventions.

You will work as a part of the health care team to advocate for and facilitate the involvement of individuals, their families and significant others in planning and evaluating care and progress toward health outcomes

About you:

Are you a nurse with excellent nursing skills with experience in an inpatient mental health setting. We're a team that's all about support and building on your strengths and if you feel the same, we are the team for you.

You'll have a Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Educators, as well as After Hours Nurse Managers and After Hours Clinical Nurse Educator backing you up. All our teams are also fully dedicated to collaborating with you.

Selection Criteria:

2. Currently registered as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

3. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team

4. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

5. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system

6. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills

7. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment

8. Demonstrated customer service and patient centered approach to care
