Sydney Local Health District is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Trainee in Neurology at RPA Hospital

What you will be doing:

This position will provide the successful applicant with advanced skills in Neurology within the RPAH Neurology Department. Participation in the RPAH Neurology service constitutes the core clinical components of the position. The advanced trainee will also be expected to attend the weekly RPAH Neurology clinical meetings, care for inpatients and attend outpatient clinics. This position will be directly responsible for inpatient care during working hours and will be expected to participate in the on-call roster with other Neurology Advanced trainees/basic trainees.

The Department of Neurology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital

Responsibilities include inpatient ward, outpatient clinics and consultations from other wards and the Emergency Department.  The advanced trainee will be required to work closely with the Senior Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff to provide a Quality Neurology Service to the patients of RPAH and SLHD

The Neurology Service incorporates a broad multidisciplinary team managing inpatients and outpatients The successful applicant will need to work efficiently within these teams and communicate well with other professionals within RPAH and the community.

Selection Criteria

•          MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

•          Evidence of appropriate qualifications relevant to the position

•          Compliance with current NSW Health Policy Directives including but not limited to National Criminal Record checks.

•          To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time.

•          Interest and/or experience in research studies and teaching

•          Ability to work under supervision and understanding the limitations.

•          Compliance with various legislative, policy/ protocol requirements relating to: NSW Code of Conduct, NSW Medical Board, Area Health Services and hospital requirements

•          Relevant clinical experience in Neurology, Research and Teaching
