What you'll be doing
This role supports the WSLHD community through expert care in communication and swallowing. Join a dynamic team making a real impact. Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Assessing and treating speech and swallowing conditions
  • Working across paediatric and adult patient groups
  • Collaborating in multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Participating in research and staff development
  • Potential for 1 extra workday based on service needs

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
  • Registration: Eligible for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated experience in the management of adults with acquired swallowing disorders, and experience in the administration of objective swallowing assessment procedures is preferred.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the management of adults with acquired communication impairments.
  3. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Demonstrated excellent time management and organisational skills.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of Evidence Based Practice, commitment to professional development and experience in quality management or research.
  6. Experience in working in both acute care and rehabilitation settings.
  7. Experience in providing speech pathology services to stroke and aged care populations.
  8. Current driver's license
