Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position(s) in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). Thisposition will be located at Blacktown Hospital within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Successful applicants will be required to have subspecialty interest in vulval pathology. This role is for clinical only and no surgical session allocated, however, the role requires surgical and admitting rights to allow admission from clinics.

 Applicants must have Australian Fellowship/Specialist Registration at the time of application.

 Essential Requirements for Appointment

    1.   Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australia New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable)

    2.   Sound clinical knowledge in vulval pathology

    3.   This is a sessional VMO role with applicants requiring subspecialty interest in vulval pathology. The role is clinical, with fortnightly clinic and no surgical session allocated.

    Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.

      Selection Criteria

      • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable)
      • Sound clinical knowledge in Obstetrics and Gynaecology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
      • Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:

      o  Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.

      o    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.

      o    Excellent organisational, supervision and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships.

      o    Maintaining and developing knowledge, skills and professional performance to the level required for contemporary practice.

      o   Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and translation of research into practice to improve patient safety and quality.

      • Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system.
      • Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership which is evidenced by:

      o    Systems thinking and risk-taking aptitude.

      o    Commitment to self -care and personal development.

      o    Capacity to maintain personal integrity, tolerate stress and demonstrate resilience.

      o    Commitment to building relationships, leading, and developing others.

      • Demonstrated commitment to Education, Training and Research, as applicable to the position.
