Manager, Trials Unit

1. Relevant health related qualification and/or experience in the field of medical oncology clinical research and clinical trials.
2. Demonstrated excellent leadership skills and highly developed and effective management skills.
3. Experience working in, or dealing with, sponsors and industry.
4. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, such as negotiation and report writing applicable in both a research and administrative context.
5. Demonstrated understanding of the legislation, codes and guidelines relevant to clinical and research ethics, and in particular the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, relevant privacy acts and guidelines, the Human Tissue Act, and the Therapeutic Goods Act as it relates to use of medications in human research.
6. Demonstrated understanding of contractual arrangements for clinical trials.
7. Superior interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to motivate, coach and mentor staff and managers, as well as consult effectively with key stakeholders. Proven capacity to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
8. Proven highly developed negotiation and delegation skills.
