What you'll be doing

 

As the Manager of  Business Sustainability you will be leading a team using data to empower clinical leaders and finance partners to drive financial sustainability.

In this role you will be:

  • Developing and implementing strategies that connect cost, activity, and funding.
  • Leading analysis to uncover issues affecting revenue and financial viability.
  • Educating and support clinical and finance teams using tailored data insights.
  • Collaborating with Activity Based Costing to build tools and reports.
  • Driving meaningful change in one of Australia’s leading State of the Art Public Health hospitals.

Selection Criteria:

 

  1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Business or Health related area and/or a significant level of relevant industry experience .
  2. Extensive experience in undertaking activity-based costing in a health environment.
  3. A well-developed understanding of activity-based funding and management in health.
  4. An excellent understanding of the business of health and data collection and processing methodologies, with a significant level of practical experience in clinical activity and health finance data manipulation and analysis.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including substantial experience in leading negotiations, presenting and writing complex reports and briefings and a demonstrated ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels including senior executive and senior clinicians.
  6. Demonstrated experience in a leadership or managerial position in a finance or decision support related area within a hospital or health system.
  7. Extensive experience as an analyst utilising patient clinical information or costing information for analytical purposes.
  8. High level of proficiency in database management, Structured Query Language (SQL) and experience using reporting tools such as Power BI, as well as extensive experience with MS Office tools including MS Excel, MS Word and MS Powerpoint.
