Remuneration: $121,658 – $124,607 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing 

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Speech Pathologist to provide evidence-based assessment and management of adults with neurogenic communication and swallowing impairments. You’ll play a pivotal role in clinical education, supporting and supervising undergraduate students while collaborating with the broader Speech Pathology and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Deliver evidence-based care for adults with neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders in outpatient and rehabilitation settings
  • Coordinate and develop clinical education programs for Speech Pathology students, including ClinConnect processes
  • Provide professional advice and education to patients, families, carers, and healthcare teams
  • Contribute to clinical supervision, quality improvement initiatives, and team development activities
  • Support service delivery across acute and subacute caseloads within Auburn Hospital when required

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications:  Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology with eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia


Selection Criteria

  1. Extensive post graduate experience in the assessment, diagnosis and management of acquired communication and swallowing disorders in outpatient and/or inpatient settings, including use and analysis of objective assessments for example VFSS and therapy programs e.g. LSVT.
  2. Demonstrated experience in student supervision with an understanding of adult learning principles.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage and support students across a range of activities to meet development goals /course/learning outcomes with an understanding of ClinConnect administration.
  4. Demonstrated experience participating in planning, implementation, and evaluation of service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process and evidence-based practice.
  5. Demonstrated advanced clinical reasoning skills to be able to solve complex problems.
  6. Good time management skills including ability to manage and prioritise workload.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as work independently.
  8. Extensive experience and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional and therapeutic relationships through the application of well-developed communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
