Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

Western Sydney Local Health District's Graduate Health Management Program aims to develop 
future leaders for the NSW Public Health System.  

The program spans over two and a half years commencing in August 2020 and finishing in February 2023. Being part of this program, Graduate Health Management Interns are employed on a temporary full-time basis whilst undertaking their Masters Degree through the University of Tasmania which would commence in 2021. 

Each Health Management Intern will have a dedicated supervisor during each placement and will receive learning objectives to be met during their placements. The first placement for all interns will be supporting public health activities for the WSLHD COVID-19 response. 
The program aims to produce graduates who will be competent and capable health service managers, ready to continue rewarding and challenging careers within the Western Sydney Local Health District and NSW Health System.

Blacktown hospital car parking allocation model is changing. There is a managed waitlist for parking for new staff commencing at Blacktown Hospital. This does not apply to staff with a disability parking permit.

Selection Criteria:

  2. Demonstrate a high level of motivation and interest in a career in public health management
  3. Well developed and effective written and verbal communication skills
  4. Demonstrate leadership and management skills or capabilities
  5. Model the NSW Health Core Values and ensure all workplace conduct aligns with these values and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
  6. Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
