Selection criteria

1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
2. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
3. Sound clinical knowledge in Internal Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
4. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: a) High level interpersonal and communication skills; b) Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team; c) Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice, and; d) Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
5. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
6. Clinical Subspecialty experience appropriate to the needs of Facility.
7. Understanding and experience in clinical rostering, patient flow and human resource management.
8. Experience in FRACP (Part 1) examination co-ordination and teaching.
