Selection Criteria
- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Note:
1. Must have completed final examinations/ assessments of RANZCR, applicants who are sitting Phase 2 examinations of RANZCR in October 2020 may apply.
2. The positions are suitable for short-term training in Australia, subject to assessment of the applicant by RANZCR.
- Sound clinical knowledge in radiation oncology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: (1.) High level interpersonal and communication skills; (2.) Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team; (3.) Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice, and; (4.) Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department, including a commitment to completing at least one manuscript suitable for peer reviewed publication.
- Have self-awareness to acknowledge where limits of competence lie and when it is appropriate to refer to other senior colleagues for advice.
- Undertake clinical duties at least 60% of employed time.
- Be prepared to provide clinical duties at both Blacktown and Westmead Hospitals according to the needs of the Radiation Oncology service.
