Selection Criteria
Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:
High level interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
Demonstrated ability in service planning and policy development.
Has completed recognised training as a Genetic Metabolic physician under the auspices of the RACP or equivalent.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with inborn errors of metabolism, including those with lysosomal storage disorders.
Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Western Sydney Local Health District.
