Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in a health related field and/or equivalent extensive experience working in senior health leadership and management.
- Demonstrated successful experience at a senior level in the effective formulation, implementation and monitoring of key health initiatives within a complex environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Aboriginal Health policy and issues at state and national level including understanding successful measures around Closing the Gap in Aboriginal Health inequality.
- Proven ability in gaining and maintaining the collaboration and respect of the Aboriginal community and of non-Aboriginal staff and stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including sound oral and written communication skills and attention to detail. Must have experience preparing documentation for senior executives, such as briefs, Ministerials, and other high level communications documents
- Proven ability to make tough decisions
- Ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation and overcome obstacles to improve Aboriginal health service delivery.
